Dear Ms Phillips,

HONG KONG WORKS CONFERENCE: WEDNESDAY 10 NOVEMBER 1993

I am writing to give you some more information about Hong Kong Works at which the Prime Minister has kindly agreed to speak.

For your guidance, the general administrative arrangements for the conference are being handled by Director Conferences, the conference division of the Institute of Directors.

With this letter, therefore, I enclose a copy of the timed programme for the conference. From this you will see that the Prime Minister has been allocated 15 minutes for his keynote address.

There are a number of other points concerning the administration of Hong Kong Works which I now need to progress. These are:

Autocue

I am making arrangements for the Autocue system to be available for speakers. Please let me know by 1 October if the Prime Minister would like to use Autocue.

Script

Please could we have a copy of the Prime Minister's script by Wednesday 27 October. This is particularly important if he plans to use the Autocue system (see above). It is also important for us to have a copy well in advance for the preparation of press packs.

Audio-Visual Support

Visual information to support the Prime Minister's address may be shown on the on-stage screen. Please advise me of his requirements by 1 October so that we can make the necessary arrangements.

Availability for Media Interviews

Please could we have a contact name in the Downing Street Press Office to whom my colleagues in the IOD Press Office can refer media enquiries in connection with the Prime Minister speaking at Hong Kong Works.

Organised by the Hong Kong Government in association with the Institute of Directors
