In looking at them again I come back to the view I have previously expressed that what we are really seeking is a "market analyst" type of study, of a kind that the Bank is better placed to do than is the DTI. On the basis of the information and impressions we have been able to put together, my priority list of companies to be looked at would be:

Cable and Wireless
Rolls Royce
