PROGRAMME FOR THE GOVERNOR'S VISIT TO LONDON: APRIL 1993

We spoke about the impracticability of Mr Patten meeting the Parliamentary Hong Kong Group, given that the House will not be sitting during the Governor's visit. However, Mr Goodlad has received a letter from Roger Sims JP MP who knows of the Governor's forthcoming visit and would be pleased for the opportunity to meet Mr Patten. Perhaps a way round this would be to arrange for Roger Sims to attend the meeting with Tim Renton at 1730 on 6 April (subject to the Governor's wishes). I would be grateful if you would investigate this possibility.
