1. Colin Shepherd MP has written to the Secretary of State,

forwarding a request from the CPA UK Branch. The delegation which was recently in Hong Kong would like to meet the

Governor to discuss their visit when he next comes to London.

I submit a draft reply. The Governor has expressed his

willingness to meet the delegation when he visits the UK in November. However, Hong Kong have asked if we could sound out

the delegation on their broad impressions of their visit prior

to the Governor's meeting with them. This might best be

achieved by Mr Goodlad offering to discuss their experiences

with them over drinks. The draft reply reflects this thought.
