II. DRAFT HONG KONG ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS

Clause XIIA of the principal Instructions is amended to

make changes consequent upon the revocation and replacement of

Article VI (1) of the principal Letters Patent and Article VII,

new paragraph (4).

2. Clauses XIII-XIV and XVI-XVIII relating to Appointed

Members are revoked because there will cease to be Appointed

Members from the day or first day of elections to be held in

1995.

Amendments to Clause XIX (1) and XXVIIIA make further

consequential changes.

4. The amendment to Clause XXI (1) makes a change consequential

upon the removal of ex officio Members from Legco in accordance

with the revocation of article VI (1) of the principal Letters

Patent.

5. A new paragraph (4) is added to Clause XIX, Clause XX1 (2),

(3) and (5) are revoked, and a new paragraph (2) is added to

Clause XXIII so that references to ex officio Members in the

context of presiding in the Legislative Council are removed and

the Council is empowered to make standing rules or orders

providing for a Member of the Council to act in place of the

President in the President's absence or inability to act.
