HONG KONG: AMENDMENT TO LAW ON DIVORCE

Thank you for your letter of 2 November in which you provided more details of the proposed amendments to the Matrimonial Causes Ordinance (Chapter 179 of the Laws of Hong Kong).

Our Legal Advisers considered that the Secretary of State's approval to begin drafting the proposed legislation was not strictly necessary. To be safe, however, we have secured the agreement of Mr Goodlad. You may therefore proceed.
