LPS AND RIS: ELECTED LEGCO PRESIDENT AND CBF'S LEGCO MEMBERSHIP

Thank you for your letter of 3 February. I can confirm that the blank spaces on the printed version of the LPS and RIS should be filled in as follows:-
"Witness Ourself (Given at our Court) at Buckingham Palace the (this) 17 day of December in the Forty-first year of Our Reign".
It is unfortunate that the error in the marginal notes of RIXXI (B) was not noticed at the drafting stage. Our Legal Counsellor has confirmed that the word "Council" needs to be added after "Legislative". I have spoken to the Privy Council Office and they will have to arrange for it to be re-printed. The earliest possible date that they will be able to get the amended version to us is the 10 February. can then fax you a copy on that day, but will not be able to get a copy to you by bag until after 12 February (the first bag from London to Hong Kong is on a Friday). I hope that this will be acceptable.
