Colonial Regulations would appear to be dismissal under CA 55, but you may consider that it would be more appropriate to introduce a new CR to enable us to dismiss sumrarily an officer who abandons or vacates his office. Before the present disciplinary code was introduced in 1971, we used to have power under Jstablishment Regulations to disaios sunrarily any officer who was absent from duty or who refused to perform his duty for a prolonged period of time. Then the new set of disciplinary regulations was introduced in 1971, this authority was revoked in respect of officers on the pensionable establishment as it was felt that all disciplinary matters involving officers on the pensionable establishment should be dealt with under a uniform set of rules.
