The
"utilities" element of this
proposed FC
industries,
comprises the electricity and gas
while the "communications" element comprises
transport and information services.
The various industries covered by this FC provide
not only the necessary convenience indispensible
the average citizens in any modern society, but
provide a firm foundation for the development
international business and financial centre
to
also
of an
like Hong Kong.
It is therefore entirely
appropriate that workers in these industries be
given recognition through representation in LegCo.
Electorate of this FC will comprise employees in
transport and information services
the utilities,
industries who are members of the relevant trade
unions. [As water supplies is Government run, its
staff will be covered by the Civil Service FC.]
