Here the main consideration is whether we wish to venture the new point about "immobilism", to which Jiang is bound to respond. On balance we prefer to stick to our established line on those exchanges, and propose to amend from the third sentence to read : "We have already spent many hours discussing the two sides' views of the status of that exchange of correspondence, and you know we have a different view. I do not wish to waste any more time on it.' Consequentially :
