precise division of the different occupational groups into the 3 sectoral components can, of course, be further refined to achieve better balance.
7.
sector
The further subdivision of the 200 seats under each to the various occupational groups will require careful consideration. Some possibilities are :
(a) even distribution between different occupational groups in each sector. Thus, for example, under the classification scheme set out in para. 6 above, the
8 "professional" groups in "The Professions" sector would each get 25 seats on the EC.
(b)
distribution by different occupational groups weighted to take account of the population in each group. Thus, for example, under the classification scheme set out in para. 6 above, the "Corporate managers" group would get about 80 seats, while the "small business managers" group would get about 120 seats.
