FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE (FAC) — EVIDENCE SESSION 3 NOVEMBER CHINA AND HONG KONG

1. The Clerk to the FAC has provided proof copies of the evidence given by Mr Chamberlain and Mr Hum on 3 November. These are provided in order to give witnesses the opportunity to propose corrections to the record before it is published.

In examining the evidence, alterations should only be made which are:

2.

i)

ii)

restricted to the correction of inaccuracies in the printing or reporting of the evidence, or

restricted to the correction of matters of fact which do not materially alter the general sense of any answer.

Minor alterations to the style or grammar should not be made.

3. Questions should not be altered. If it is considered necessary to provide additional information, this may be submitted as a footnote to the evidence at the appropriate point or as a supplementary memorandum. May I leave it to you to decide if David Edwards should be consulted.

4.

I am required to submit a corrected "master copy" of the evidence to the Clerk by Thursday 11 November. I should therefore be grateful if proof copies could be returned to me, with any alterations, by midday 11 November.
