It would be fun to engage in an exchange of Latin tags but I must resist the temptation. I cannot, however, entirely resist saying that I appreciate your need to achieve precision. This need must have become very much strengthened by the legal muddle over Maastricht which I am sure has impressed on everyone in Government the truth of the Pliny quotation!
