SIR P CRADOCK ́S MEMOIRS

но

1.

I have read through the prefatory chapter on Sino British relations from 1793 to 1962. I am happy to confirm that I can see no problems from a national security point of view. The line taken is very much one of almost inevitable confrontation between mutually uncomprehending powers rather than attempting to put the relationship in any more positive light. That is a reasonable, and arguable interpretation, of the relationship and one that I presume that is anyway close to the main theme of the book.
