SIR PERCY CRADOCK'S VISIT TO PEKING: PRESS LINE

John Ellison has written a piece in the Oriental Daily News on 12 May (summary attached) revealing that Sir Percy Cradock will be visiting Peking at about the same time as the third round of talks on Hong Kong. There is press interest in Hong Kong and Peking. We have asked the Embassy in Peking to deflect enquiries to News Department.

I submit a line to take which reflects earlier discussion with Mr Goodlad and the Governor.
