I do not imagine that members of the Department make it a regular habit to talk to Sir Percy Cradock. But I would be grateful if you could all read the attached minute from Sir John Coles covering a minute from Ms Everett in News Department. From this you will see that there is reason to believe that John Ellison is obtaining at least some of the damaging material about our policy on Hong Kong which has been appearing in the Sunday Morning Post from Sir Percy Cradock. As Sir John Coles says, we should therefore all take care that no confidential information about our Hong Kong policy reaches Sir Percy Cradock.
