JUDICIAL OFFICERS (TENURE OF OFFICE) BILL: AMENDMENTS TO THE LETTERS PATENT AND COLONIAL REGULATIONS
1.
Thank you for your manuscript minute of 20 May.
18
2. During your absence I have written to Hong Kong to let them know that we will be aiming to submit the amendments to the Letters Patent to the 20 July Privy Council and have asked them whether it would be possible for us to amend the Colonial Regulations before the amendments to the Letters Patent come into force. I have also written to Mr Herdman to ask him whether we could include our changes to the Colonial Regulations in his submission to the Secretary of State seeking approval for the re-printed version of the Colonial Regulations.
3.
As I will be away next week, I am sending the papers on the Judicial Officers (Tenure of Office) Bill back to you now and would be grateful if you could let me know whether you are content with the HKG's proposed amendments.
