effectiveness and efficiency of the courts and

tribunals.

Co-ordinating the functions of staff in all grades. (6) Planning and developing the careers of the staff. (7) Training policy and co-ordination of staff training. (8) Communications.

(9) Computer policy.

(10) Policy on the recording of court proceedings and

simultaneous translation.

(11) Support for the Judicial Studies Board.

(12) Pursuit of best office practices and value for

money.

(13) Monitoring performance.

(14) Pursuit of improved methods and systems.

The current ranking of the purely administrative staff is not

enough to provide adequate support for the Judiciary

The post of one of the two Deputy Registrars (the other

being the Senior Master) was created mainly for administrative

purposes. This should now be divested of judicial functions and become
