Proposed Amendments to the Letters Patent and the Colonial Regulations

XVI of the Letters Patent should be amended by

" (1) " before the existing paragraph; and by inserting the following paragraph

"(2)

This Article does not apply to a person holding any of the following offices in the Colony

Registrar of the Supreme Court

Deputy Registrar, Supreme Court

Assistant Registrar, Supreme Court

Member of the Lands Tribunal (being a member who

is in the full-time service of the Crown)

Principal Magistrate

Magistrate

Presiding Officer, Labour Tribunal

Adjudicator, Small Claims Tribunal Coroner

Special Magistrate

President, Lands Tribunal

Presiding Officer, Lands Tribunal.'

Colonial Regulations

Regulation 54 (6) of Appendix II of Part I of the Colonial Regulations should be replaced by the following -

"(6)

Regulations 54 to 66 shall not apply to a

person holding any of the following offices -

Judge of the Supreme Court or District Court Registrar of the Supreme Court

Deputy Registrar, Supreme Court

Assistant Registrar, Supreme Court

Member of the Lands Tribunal (being a member who

is in the full-time service of the Crown)

Principal Magistrate

Magistrate

Presiding Officer, Labour Tribunal

Adjudicator, Small Claims Tribunal

Coroner

Special Magistrate

President, Lands Tribunal

Presiding Officer, Lands Tribunal."

Consequential amendment should also be made to Regulation 65 by replacing the reference to "Section 6 (2) of the Public Service Commission Ordinance" with "Section 6(2) (a) and (c) to (e) of the Public Service Commission Ordinance".
