I wrote to you on 12 March about the guidelines on the vetting of police in connection with our note "HMOCs officers and Dependents: UK Public Service Appointments". We subsequently spoke over the telephone and you explained that your office was in the process of revising the guidelines on police vetting and that you might be able to provide me with further information towards the end of this month or in May.

I would be very grateful if you could let me know how this exercise is progressing and when you are likely to be in a position to advise on the revised guidelines.
