Financial Aspects
The two schemes to be made under the Bill will create
financial implications. The compensation scheme will cost £39 million over 5 years from 1 July 1995 at current prices; and the sterling pension safeguard scheme will present a maximum contingent liability of £174 million. The funding of these schemes is still under discussion with the Treasury.
