Dear Nigel,

I attach an advance copy of the HMOCS Association Committee's reply to Mr. Godlad's letter of 19 November 1993 to Mr. Cartland, which they received yesterday.

In a nutshell the letter from the Minister has been well received, although the do not of course know any details of the schemes. AB can

seen from their reply, the Association Committee does not wish to commence consultations in the absence of Mr. Cartland. They have therefore suggested the week commencing 24 January 1994.

The Association Committee will say nothing to their members until the afternoon of Thursday 25 November.
