The Committee, as presently constituted, continues believe that an open rift between HMOCS officers and HMG would serve no useful purpose and would be damaging to British interests in Hong Kong. Given that we may not be able to control the situation for very much longer, we would urge that HMG brings matters to a speedy resolution by putting forward comprehensive proposals as soon as possible for the provision of a compensation scheme, a sterling pension safeguard and changes to the current SPOS Regulations.
