(i) the difference between the two multiplied by the factor, as set out in the relevant Table, appropriate to the age and pensionable service of the officer on the date taken for calculation in this paragraph; or
(ii) the amount of the compensation which would have been due in accordance with paragraph 10 had the officer retired on the date taken for calculation in this paragraph; or
(iii) the maximum sum;
whichever is the least; and the officer will be required to repay any sum which he has previously received under this Scheme by way of compensation and interest on compensation which exceeds the sum due under this paragraph together with interest thereon as provided in paragraph 14(1).
PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION
13.-(1) Subject to subparagraph (4) of this paragraph and paragraphs 15, 16 and 17, the compensation due to an entitled officer will be paid in five instalments. Payments of instalments due after the appointed day will take account of any recalculation in the amount of compensation due and the amount of the maximum sum required to be made on the date of payment.
(2) A first instalment of one fifth of the compensation due will be due to every entitled officer on the appointed day and will be paid as soon as possible thereafter.
(3) Subject as aforesaid, the remaining instalments of compensation will be paid as follows:
- one fourth of the compensation outstanding will be paid on the first anniversary of the appointed day;
