1. Thank you for your letter of 26 February 1993. It would be most convenient for us if we could meet in the FCO (with Mr Fifoot and Mr Fish) at 11.00 a.m on 15 March. It is difficult to estimate how long the discussion will last, but we will keep the afternoon of that day free as well as the morning of 16 March.
2. I attach copies of a draft sterling safeguard scheme and a compensation scheme, and also a number of points raised by Mr Fifoot. We should use your visit to resolve as many of the outstanding technical points as possible.
