REQUEST FOR REINFORCEMENTS
23.
The Commander British Forces (CBF) Hong Kong, after consultation with HE The Governor, is responsible for:
a.
Warning the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) that reinforcements may be required so that these may be brought progressively to appropriate notice.
b. Requesting the CDS to despatch the reinforcements required by reference to Serial Numbers at Annex A.
POLITICAL APPROVAL
24. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) will consider, in consultation with MOD, whether or not the request should be met, following which the necessary political approval will be obtained.
25.
If part of the reinforcement is to come from Brunei, the FCO is to inform the Brunei Government of this intention.
AUTHORISATION
26. The CDS will, on receiving notification of political approval of the request, authorise implementation of the plan by signal, using the Subject Indicator Code (SIC) 13D, to the addressees shown at Annex B.
27-32.

METHOD OF DEPLOYMENT
33. From Brunei. MODUK (Air) will decide on the method of moving reinforcements from Brunei.
