1. Land Element. Currently one UK infantry battalion + 2 Gurkha infantry battalions organised into 48 (Gurkha) Infantry

Brigade; supported by Gurkha engineer, signal and transport regiments and the Hong Kong Military Service Corps (HKMSC) which consists of approximately. 1000 locally entered uniformed

personnel (LEP). Also one AAC squadron operating 5 Scout helicopters (including 1 in-use reserves).

Maritime Element. Currently 3 Peacock class patrol craft

based at HMS TAMAR. Patrol craft and base are manned by a

mixture of UK service personnel and some 300 LEP.

3. RAF Element. Currently one squadron operating -8 Wessex helicopters (including 2 in-use reserves).
