1. The British side would like to inform the Chinese side that
an infantry battalion of 650 men, currently stationed as part of
the British garrison in Hong Kong, will be sent as a six-month
tour to join the British garrison in Belize. The battalion will
leave Hong Kong in October this year and return in March 1994. A
small rear party and the battalion's families will remain in Hong
Kong.
