subject to their clearance to proceed in the light of the future

political situation in Hong Kong.

32. JTP 68. The current LEP and LEC manning situation does not

indicate a need for any major revision or future early implementation

of JTP 68. The plan should be reviewed in 1993 however, to take into

account possible changes in the future detailed requirement. HQBF is

examining with the Joint Planning Staff (JPS) the need to develop

additional JTP to effect the reinforcement of Hong Kong by individuals

and formed logistic units during the later part of the rundown of the

Garrison, in order to meet possible future shortfalls in posts filled

currently by LEP or LEC.
