To arrest, without warrant, any persons who he reasonably believes will be charged with, or he reasonably suspects of being guilty of, an offence for which the sentence is fixed by law, or for which a person may (on first conviction for that offence) be sentenced to imprisonment, or it appears that service of a summons is impracticable.
Use all means necessary to effect the arrest of any person who may be lawfully arrested under S 50(1) and is resisting, or attempting to evade, arrest.
(iii) Any Police Officer, if he has
reason to believe that any person to be arrested has entered any place or premises, can demand that the occupant or person in charge of such areas permit him ingress thereto and afford him all reasonable facilities for search therein.
(iv)
Stop any person in a public place who is acting in a suspicious manner to demand proof of identity; if necessary, to search that person for
anything that may present a danger to the officer; and to detain such a person for a reasonable period whilst the officer enquires if the person is a suspected offender and, if
applicable, to carry out the search.
