Examples of the scope of this emergency legislation are given in Part I of Chapter 7. Many of the orders, notifications, declarations, etc. which would be required in an emergency have already been drafted for use when required.

Section 50(3) of the Public Order Ordinance confers on members of HM Forces, when acting in aid of the Civil Power, the same powers, protection and immunities as are conferred by law on Police officers.
