THE OPERATIONS ROOM

This is the heart of the GSECC and is the room in which the Controller, his Deputy and Assistants, and the Liaison Officers will work.

The room is equipped with a wide range of telephone and radio telephone facilities, computer and printer, as well as with sliding mapboards, whyteboards and pinboards. There is also a separate desk at which the Controller can work in relative solitude from the main telephone area should the need arise.

A mapcase, television and radio set are also kept in the room.

This room is manned and operated solely by HQBF personnel when activated.
COMMUNICATIONS

The passage of operational, logistical and statistical information is a very important function of the GSECC.

The lines are fed into a concentrator system in the Operations Room. The GSECC also has a Radio Telephone network linking it and all the major departmental and security force control centres, for use in the event of disruption to the public telephone system.
