Amend paragraph 1 to read "During 1992 alone the number of civilian and military personnel engaged in UN operations..."

Paragraph 6. The precise treatment of peacekeeping costs in the case of large operations (eg the VOPP) has yet to be settled. Delete the final bullet referring to reimbursement.

Paragraph 7. Amend to read "existing security and defence interests. We will also have to consider whether committing military forces represents the the most suitable response.

Box on former Yugoslavia:
