Mr Sze first joined the civil service in 1969 and rose

to his present rank of Secretary in March 1993. He served in a

Mr Haider Barma, 180, JP (aged 49).

Mr Barma joined the civil service in 1966 and rose to

his present rank of Administrative Officer staff Grade A in 1989.

During his early years he served in a variety of posts in the

then New Territories Administration and Home Affairs Department

as well as the City and New Territories Administration, Economic

Services Branch and Environment Branch. Mr Barma was Deputy

Director of Housing from 1983 to 1986 and Deputy Secretary for

Civil Service from 1986 to 1988. More recently, he was Director

of Regional Services from 1988 to 1991, when he took up his

present appointment as Director of Urban Services.
