Conditions of Service

4.7

Serving P&P officers who opt to switch over to the new P&P terms and serving agreement officers who may be offered further employment either on new P&P terms or on agreement terms would be subject to the new conditions of service as those applicable to new recruits (see Chapter III). The only exception would be in respect of housing. In honour of the cut-off date of 1 October 1990, officers who had joined the civil service before that date but re-appointed on new P&P terms after that date without a break in service, would retain the options of Non-departmental Quarters and Private Tenancy Allowance if and when they become eligible. For those appointed after that date, they would be allowed to draw a housing allowance at an appropriate rate.

Transitional Arrangements

4.8

The transitional arrangements for serving OAT and LAT officers upon being offered further employment on the new conditions of service will be modelled on the arrangements detailed in Civil Service Branch Circular Memorandum No. 64/93 dated 13 September 1993.

Note

4.9

A chart showing the new terms of appointment and the transfer arrangements for serving OAT and LAT officers is at Annex F.
