MIPT A: CHANGES IN SENIOR HONG KONG GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL
PRESS RELEASE
1. The Government announced today that Mrs Anson Chan Fang CBE JP will succeed Sir David Ford as Chief Secretary on 29 November 1993.

Mrs Chan has very wide experience in the Government having served in a variety of posts throughout her career. In recent years she has been Director of Social Welfare, Secretary for Economic Services and, most recently, Secretary for the Civil Service.
3. Sir David will leave Hong Kong on 29 November. After a period of leave, he will take over as Commissioner of the Hong Kong Government office in London at the beginning of 1994. The current Commissioner, Mr John Yaxley, CBE, JP is retiring in late November
