Circular No. 7/93 dated 15.2.93 announced the new arrangements for the nomination of spouse for death gratuity or ex-gratia payment, granted under the pensions legislation. This memorandum summarizes the new arrangements and advises departments of the procedures for processing of nomination and revocation forms (GF 594 and 595 respectively).

the following of CSB Circular
(a) The new procedure aims to shorten the time taken for payment of a death gratuity or ex-gratia payment (if payable) to the nominated spouse of a deceased officer.
(b)
Nomination of spouse as recipient of death gratuity or ex-gratia payment is entirely voluntary.
If no nomination is made in response to this circular, the death gratuity or ex-gratia payment, if payable, will be paid to the deceased officer's legal personal representative.
