Termination of service of Category B officer
306 (1) (a)

The Service of a Category B officer other than those on agreement terms may be terminated by the appropriate authority stated under CSRs 306(2) and (3). Refore a decision is made to terminate an officer's service, he will be informed by his Department in writing of the grounds on which termination of his service is contemplated and be allowed to submit any representations he may wish to make within fourteen calendar days from the date of the letter. A decision will be made by the appropriate authority having regard to the circumstances of the case and the representations made by the officer. If the appropriate authority decides that the service of an officer should be terminated, his service shall be terminated by giving one calendar month's notice in writing or paying one month's salary in lieu' of notice (see CSK 300).
(b) If the termination of such an officer's service is on
account of redundancy or reorganisation of the department to effect greater efficiency or economy, his case should be dealt with in accordance with Civil Pervice Regulation 308 (see also Annex 2.1).
