Joining the SSCPS
4. should period
Eligible officers who wish to join the SSCPS complete and return election form A (Annex II). The within which an officer may elect to join the scheme is as follows
(a) officers appointed, re-appointed, or transferred from other public service to Government service on terms other than agreement terms,

the permanent establishment, on or after 1 February 1993 may elect to join the scheme within six months after their appointment, re-appointment or transfer, or in the case of single officers within 6 months after their marriage;
officers, other than agreement officers, who are already in Government service as at 1 February 1993 and who are not members of the SSCPS or WOPS (i.e. Model Scale I staff, Staff of Artisan / Senior Artisan grades, female officers and certain junior disciplined services officers) may elect to join the SSCPS within six months from 1 February 1993 with the further option of buying back past contributory service since 1 January 1978 or date of first appointment whichever is the later; and
officers, other than agreement officers, who are not members of the SSCPS or WOPS at the time of their marriage or re-marriage, may elect to join the SSCPS within six months after their marriage or re-marriage, with the further option of buying back past contributory service.

Eligible members of the SSCPS and WOPS who wish contributing to the respective scheme should and return either election form B or C (Annexes III and IV respectively) as appropriate for officers under paragraph (a) below and election form D (Annex V) for officers under paragraphs (b) and (c) below, within the election period specified below -

for serving members of the SSCPS or WOPS on 1 February 1993, six months as from 1 February 1993;
