Commutation of the Monthly Dependant Pension
Beneficiaries are given an additional option of commuting the monthly dependant pension into a lump sum Payment in lieu of the lump sum compensation granted under the ECO. The lump Sum dependant pension will be calculated according

calculation of additional pension is modified SO that the rate of additional pension is expressed as the same percentage of the officer's annual pensionable emoluments ' ; the date of injury, as the degree of
permanent incapacity resulting from such injury. However, the total amount of additional pension and service pension which an officer may receive at the time of retirement, is, as under the existing arrangements, subject to a limit of his highest pensionable

Enhancement of Service Pension on Retirement on Account of Duty-related Injuries

The service pension for officers who have to retire on account of duty-related injury after short service (less than five years) will be enhanced
doubling the length of an officer's pensionable service, subject to a minimum of two years, and a maximum of not exceeding the period of service which the officer would have completed on attaining normal retirement age.
