(II)
Where a pensioner dies after retirement, the death gratuity payable is
(a)
an amount equal to his annual pensionable emoluments in the case of an officer formerly on the permanent establishment or 9 months' salary in the case of one not on the permanent establishment; or
(b) his maximum commuted pension
gratuity;
whichever is the greater,
less the pension/allowance and commuted gratuity which he had received.
(II)
Where a pensioner dies after retirement, the death gratuity payable is -
(a) an amount equal to either 12
months' pensionable emoluments;
or
(b) his maximum commuted pension
gratuity;
whichever is the greater,
less the pension and commuted pension gratuity which he had received.
(III) Death gratuity is not payable to a
person who dies after resigning from the service.
(III)
(a) Where a person eligible for a
deferred pension dies before receipt of the deferred
(b)
pension, an amount equal to the
maximum commuted pension
gratuity of the deferred
pension plus any pension
increases is payable
immediately.
Where a person who has been
granted a deferred pension dies
after a deferred pension is
paid to him, the amount of
death gratuity payable is equal to
(i)
(ii)
the maximum commuted pension gratuity which he would have received plus any pension increases up to the time when the deferred pension was paid to him for the first time; less
any pension benefits already paid or payable to him and any pension increases awarded up to
the time when the
deferred pension was paid to him for the first
time.
