HONG KONG : NEW CONSULATE-GENERAL PREMISES
The FCO has today announced the winning design for new purpose-built premises to accommodate the British
Consulate-General and British Council in Hong Kong after the transfer of sovereignty on 1 July 1997.

In line with the British Government's objectives of achieving a high standard of design for its buildings, the Overseas Estate Dept of the FCO commissioned and briefed
architectural practices (having both British and Hong Kong experience) to prepare initial sketch designs from which the most suitable could be selected.
The six practices were Leigh and Orange Ltd.; PSA International; RMJM Hong Kong Ltd.; P and T Group; Llewelyn-Davis, Weekes Hong Kong; and Terry Farrell and Co.
Ltd.
The design by Terry Farrell and Co. Ltd has been selected. It is an example of the high quality design for which the practice is well known.
Court Road on the Construction is years to complete.
The new premises will be built at Supreme site at present occupied by Colvin House. expected to start in mide1993 and take 2 Swire Properties Projects Ltd, Hong Kong have been appointed as our local Project Manager for the project.
