FUTURE BRITISH CONSULATE GENERAL STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING
1. You have kindly agreed to chair the Steering Committee meeting on Tuesday 9 June. I attach the following
documents:-
(a) An annotated Agenda, together with a list of those attending
(b) A note on the topics to be discussed, with suggestions
on the main angles to consider in discussion
(c) As background, the record of the previous Steering Committee meeting last October, Mr Bertram's main policy submissions on the BCG and the Design Selection Scheme, and a draft paper we are preparing on the transition from the
British Trade Commission.
2.
The main purpose is to agree a recommendation to Ministers on the architectural design for the building. are to see the six plans in Matthew Parker Street tomorrow
morning.

3. I suggest we leave the issue of a residence of the
future Consul-General to one side. These are delicate
issues we need to consider before taking the issues in the
open Court of a Steering Committee.
