Thank you for these recommendations.

Committee meeting, which I chaired on 9 June, considered carefully

those directly related to the C-G building (that is B, C and E of

15 para 1 of TUR). We shall want to address A and D in slightly

16 slower time.

On budget policy, the cost of the building is mainly 19 caused by its size, and this is determined by the staffing and 20 operational requirements that are forecast for the C-G and BC, and 21 were implicit in the agreed brief. I am tasking HKD to re-check

22 with RMD and PMD the assumptions underlying these forecasts: BC 23 are following up a comparable exercise. Some reductions in size

24 may be achievable as a result. As to future cost control, OED and

25 Swires will put all appropriate mechanisms in place. EXCO'S

26 conditions for the PTG at nominal charge included a ceiling of 27 gross floor area of 19,000 square metres and limitations on the 28 way this space could be allocated. We cannot therefore include

29 more than 9 junior flats on the C-G site. We would of course
