ACCOMMODATION FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE CONSULATE-GENERAL UNDER CLAUSE 7(A) WOULD INCLUDE ACCOMMODATION FOR THE BOTB AND NIDB, SINCE THESE ARE BODIES WHIMH DEVELOP COMMERCIAL RELATIONS, BUT IT WOULD BE BETTER, NOT/NOT TO LEAVE SUCH DECISIONS TO THE DIRECTOR'S DISCRETION,

WHILE WE UNDERSTAND ENTIRELY BUILDINGS AND LANDS' DESIRE TO STOP US SUBLETTING COMMERCIALLY, THAT CAN BE ACHIEVED BY OTHER MEANS WITHOUT INTERFERING WITH OUR RIGHT TO USE THE BUILDING FOR BCG, BC OR ANCILLARY PURPOSES AS WE/WE THINK FIT. PROVIDED WE DO NOT BREACH THE PRINCIPLE BY WHICH THE LAND IS GRANTED TO US AT NOMINAL COST (EG BY RENTING OUT SPACE AT COMMERCIAL RENTS), WE CONSIDER THAT IT IS ENTIRELY A MATTER FOR HMG, AND NOT/NOT A MATTER FOR THE DISCRETION OF THE DIRECTOR TO DECIDE HOW WE APPORTION SPACE WITHIN THE BCG. GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD PUT THESE POINTS TO BUILDINGS AND LANDS AND SUGGEST THAT THEIR CONCERNS COULD BE MET ADEQUATELY BY A CLAUSE PROHIBITING COMMERCIAL SUBLETTING.
