HOW MUCH?

-

We anticipate that the budget for the building will

certainly exceed the EC threshhold of £3.4 million and the

project will therefore have to be published in the

supplement to the official Journal of the EC.

[if pressed] Cannot give a clear estimate until the design selection exercise is complete. (Would not in any case be wise to advertise the budget for a project which will be the

subject of competitive tendering.)

WHO WILL JUDGE THE DESIGNS?

-

Ministers will take final decision.

WILL THE ARCHITECTS BE PAID?

Yes.

HOW MUCH?

- A fixed fee of Hong Kong $150,000.

HAS THE EXPORT GROUP FOR THE CONSTRUCTIONAL INDUSTRIES BEEN

ALERTED TO THIS PROJECT?

-

Not yet but we will do so as normal.

WHEN WILL CONSTRUCTION START?

In 1993.

WILL FOREIGN FIRMS BE ALLOWED TO TENDER?

-

Yes.
