I

I undertook to consult and let Mr Jarvis have some guidance on the questions on an acceptance letter, the Kennedy Road Link and the idea of a negotiationg team. should be grateful for Miss Brooks' views on the letter and the team idea, and for OED's views on the Kennedy Road Link and the team idea.

Residence for future Consul General

7. I asked for an early sitrep on the idea of Headquarters House as a possible residence. Mr Jarvis undertook to send me something in the next few days and clarified that Mr Galsworthy's recent telegram regarding "Flagstaff House" referred to a different building to Headquarters House. Headquarters House is situated on the peak adjacent to Victoria House, while Flagstaff House is the old residence of the CBF now converted into a museum and situated within kthe boundaries of the new Hong Kong Park not far from

St John's House (where UKREP JLG are). I asked him to check with Mr Galsworthy as to what his views on Headquarters House

were.
