made by B.F.M.L. However, there is absolutely nothing in this
point. There could be any number of reasons for the difference
in approach. This is also true of the further point which is
made with regard to the United State's assets.
Mr. Osman says with regard to the additional B.B.M.B.
documents that they enable him to present to the court "for the
first time direct evidence of the knowledge of the Hong Kong
Government of the cover up both by B.B.M.B. and by the Malaysian
Government for political purposes and of the adoption of and
co-operation of the Hong Kong Government in that objective".
We disagree. The documents do not provide any such evidence.

The Jalil documents.
as his
Mr. Jalil was a member of a team which conducted an
internal audit into B.F.M. L. at the end of 1982. In February
1983 he was sent by the then Group Chairman of B.B.M.B.
personal representative to Hong Kong. He then reported
directly to that Chairman. He also became Assistant General
Manager (Credit) in B.F.M.L. and was closely involved in
attempting to resolve the loans which had been made to the
Carrian Group. He kept extensive diaries of his activities and
no doubt would have been in a position to give valuable evidence
at any trial in relation to the loans to the Carrian Group if he
had not been unfortunately murdered on 18th July 1983.
For the purpose of the present application, we are prepared
to assume that the Jalil documents are genuine copies of
documents written by Mr. Jalil and that at some stage they came
into the possession of the Hong Kong Organised and Serious Crime
Group. The documents indicate that Mr. Jalil was of the view
