9 March 1992
K Cahill Esq 56 Tavistock Place London WC1 9RG
I have been asked to acknowledge your letters of 17 and 24 February
about the Lorrain Osman case to Sir John Coles and me, as well as
your letter of 26 February to the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretar
and your letters of 17, 24 and 26 February to the Prime Minister.
Mr Osman's seventh application for a writ of habeas corpus was
rejected by the Divisional Court on 28 February. The reasons for
the Court's decision, including its conclusion that the Foreign and
Commonwealth Office should not be made a party to the proceedings,
were given in the judgment.
