This is just a short note to enquire whether you could

join me for lunch, or perhaps dinner, this week or next, at

the National Liberal Club ?

I may be wrong, but with the election settled, and the

new Governor appointed, I feel that an informal meeting may

be the best way to proceed in the matter of Lorrain Osman.

Michael Cleverley and I settled our 'policy' differences

at the club, on a totally informal basis, and I beg to hope that

perhaps this problem could be brought to a satisfactory

conclusion in the same way. If you feel unable to accept the

invitation, perhaps you would suggest an intermediary who might

be able to come, on an informal basis.
